About Mrs. Vocca

I was born and raised here in the Verde Valley and I'm an alumni of Mingus Union High School. My husband, Paul and I have two sweet daughters, Lyla and Cara. I attended Yavapai College and earned my Associate of Arts Degree in General Education. At that time, my plan was to get my Bachelor's Degree in education but my career took a different path and I earnedmy degree in Applied Management from Grand Canyon University.

After earning my degree in 2015, I continued to work for my long-time employer Educational Services, Inc. before deciding to look for opportunities in the local area as I had been working remotely. I went to work for the Town of Clarkdale for one year as a Community Development Technician then in March 2017, I started with the City of Cottonwood in the Human Resources Department.

One of my biggest accomplishments is graduating from Verde Valley Leadership Program in 2017. Verde Valley Leadership, Inc., is a non-profit corporation that provides personal and professional growth opportunities through development of leadership skills, community awareness and diverse, influential networks. It was during this time that I had exposure to education and began realizing this is where I want to be.

It is an honor to be back at Mingus teaching and making a difference in lives of students in our community. Although my path to teaching is different than most, I feel like I bring a unique perspective to the classroom.
